A bravely bitter, aromatic and herbaceous vermouth, showing us the traditions worth practicing. GWI’s first aperitif and digestif producer is here, buongiorno Chianti Vergano! Tomasso and Pietro Vergano are second-generation makers, creating small batches of balanced and unique elixirs out of a teeny facility in the backstreets of Asti, Piemonte. These earthly delights have been made from a base of natural wine, and infused with carefully chosen, regionally significant and internationally treasured botanicals, herbs, citrus & spices. FUN FACT! An ‘Americano’ is a traditional apéritif from Piedmont, and a play on the French amér, that is similar to a vermouth, but with extra bitter components! Vergano’s is based in local red grape grignolino, which is blended with sugar, wormwood, savoury, orange skin, gentian root & an assortment of dry Italian pantry herbs. Enjoy on the rocks with sparkling mineral water and citrus rind, maybe while resting on a rocky outcrop yourself, a rich n’ flirty feeling palpable like you are in your own L’aventura. #viniaromatizzatiFOREVER
