'Josette'
Fer Servadou, Aveyron, FranceÂ
One of our favourite wines of our entire portfolio returns. Winemaker Nicolas was born in Aveyron, brought up in Paris & operated a famous Parisian natural wine bar before becoming a vigneron in the land of his grandfather. The Mauvais Temps vineyard this wine comes from was abandoned for nine years, and took two years of tireless work to rebuild and let the biodiversity of the surrounding forests seep back in. The pastoral and downright charming fer servadou is picked from 30-60 year old vines that look over the Selves river. Milk thistle purple, ample natural deodorant florals, sweet n’ dirty, dark cherry koolaid powder, wild mint, green peppers, blue raspberry ring pop aftertaste, anchor minerality & a chewy edge that brings cool earth. Enjoy while the snow drops are resurfacing, but you’re dreaming of june bugs.
