âSavagnin OuillĂ©â
Savagnin, Jura, FranceÂ
A complexly-fruited, mineral and tactile Jura savagnin to end all Jura savagnins. The world famous wines of BĂ©nĂ©dicte and StĂ©phane Tissot are prized and polished to perfection, year after steadfast year. Working with as minimal cellar intervention as possible and great biodynamic care across their 35-hectares of vineyards, Tissot represents some of the best the Jura has to offer, ask anyone. FUN FACT! Between producing their own compost, and the application of herbal teas, everything is done to invigorate vines and help them transmute their unique terroir! FUN FACT #2! The name refers to an inside joke for vigneron StĂ©phane Tissot which refers to the historic ties between savagnin & gewurztraminer! This stunning savagnin (also known as traminer) is made in the âouillĂ©â (or topped-up) style, which avoids oxidative notes, and instead focuses on a pure expression of the uniquely desirable savagnin grape. Tender tension, with apricot and peach puree, citrus zest, fall honey warmth + texture, baking spices tossed here and there, nutty nuances & a salty lemon juiced ending. Pour alongside an aromatic rogan josh (or roghan ghosht) or truffled celeriac.Â
