âBench Timeâ Pinot Noir Rose
Pinot Noir, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia
A plush, fruit-forward and versatile Canadian pinot noir rosĂ© made by our dear friends Tracy and Gaurav with a label dedicated to one of our favourite Toronto restaurants and theirs, 20 Victoria. Their winery, Aasha, is a 2.8 acre slice of sustainably-farmed vineyards sitting in the Naramata Bench, at the northern end of the Okanagan Valley, BC. Planted in 2007, their silty-loam vineyards are home to rows of syrah, cabernet sauvignon and viognier which are pruned for very low yields and made into their tight, estate-based lineup. FUN FACT! The âBench Timeâ rosĂ© is made using the saignĂ©e method, and involves âbleedingâ off a portion of red grape juice after itâs been in contact with the skins and seeds for richer and more powerful expressions. Raspberry flowers and juice, whole watermelon, beach minerality, daisies & white pepper tingle. Pour alongside turkey lunch meat or cucumber nâ cream cheese sandwiches while researching the Ogopogo.
