2014 'AY Grand Cru'

A tale of two brothers – with parcels scattered in different parts of Champagne, but based in Ludes in Montagne de Reims. Most of their vines are farmed biodynamically, and most of their wines are barrel fermented with regional yeasts. This succulent wine is from the famed Aÿ Grand Cru of the Grand Vallée. One of the most historically esteemed villages – also the favourite of Pope Urban II, and England’s King Henry VIII! What’s good enough for them is good enough for us, ya? A pinot noir focused cru with sweeping slopes clawing up from the river. Peter Liem describes, “if Aÿ were in Burgundy, it would be Vosne- Romanée” coming from the same part of Aÿ as Rosé Cristal. FUN FACT! This is the first time it is available in Ontario, lucky us!
