A fresh, citric and mineral South African skin-contact chenin for weekend graffiti artists. Testalonga was born in 2008 by Carla and Craig Hawkins in Swartland, South Africa. They started their Baby Bandito line in 2015 to offer accessible wines meant to be drunk young, while over-delivering in quality! CUTE FACT! The names for the Baby Bandito wines are expressions that they would use when giving encouragement to a child; the child in all of us says THANKS! The 1.5 hectare plot of organic chenin blanc bush vines for âStay Braveâ was planted in 1981. FUN FACT! This plot was abandoned in 2014, and Carla and Craig approached the farmer Rick Mcgrindle to ask if they could revive it, spoiler alert - he said yes! A 10-day skin contact and aging between old oak foudre and barrels brings this orange to a clear and rounded final form. Fluttering florals, a mound of citrus zest, pithy lime, peeling lychees, salt shake, apricot skin, vanilla wafer, white pepper, boulders & ginger. Pour alongside mozarella sticks and warm marinara sauce.
