Primary colour wheel test – what do you get when you mix blue with yellow? Not purple, not orange, it’s green! Fitting as this is Rosewood’s new vinho verde style Riesling (aka Portugal’s ‘green’ wine full of freshness). They achieve this zesty goodness by waiting for the Riesling to be phenolically ripe (preventing bitterness and astringency) before picking, but picking way before full sugar ripeness for peak zesty acid ZIP. Rounding out that zip is texture built care of seven months on lees for a round aromatic wave. Think citrusy freezie, ripe lime, pebbly minerality, sweet apple flesh & honeysuckle florals.
