Bonnet-Cotton CĂ´te de Brouilly
Gamay, Beaujolais, France
A cherry-churned, earthy and zero-zero Bojo force to be reckoned with. Since 2014 winemaker Pierre Cotton has been delivering organic and minimal intervention Beaujolais, but it wasnât until the addition of partner Marine Bonnet, an agronomist specialized in viticulture, that the winery took its final form in 2020. The âCĂ´te de Brouillyâ is an old vine stunner from their domaineâs pink granite soils (yes, weâve licked the rocks) that spent eight months carbonically macerating, then moved to their underground cellar to age in century-old foudres. FUN FACT! The âCĂ´te de Brouillyâ (previously titled â100% Cottonâ) was the first cuvĂŠe Pierre made and remains the emblematic wine of the domaine! HARD CHERRY, kirsch cola, cherry wood smoke, elderberry season, a liquorice-reminiscent perceived sweetness, tree bark, strawberry coulis, many black rocks, cacao, soil & a pliable structure, like a bite of deep-fried soft-shell crab. Share with an elder while they teach you how to use a loom.
