Clos La Coutale was founded over 100 years ago, and today Philippe Bernard is the sixth generation to look after the 50 hectare estate, sitting a few hundred yards from the famous, serpentine, Lot River. FUN FACT! Malbec is the main grape in the legendary âBlack wine of Cahorsâ. The intense malbec (80%) and punchy merlot (20%) are destemmed and fermented in stainless steel before aging in old Bordeaux Grand Cru barrels for one year, developing a balance between tannin and fruit. Rich blackberry, absinthe, dense prune, vanilla wafer, liquorice, star anise, underbrush & chewy wood. Try with our next boeuf bourguignon. #stewseason
