A finessed, animalistic and earthen Provence red from a different time entirely. The ICONIC Domaine Tempier has a long history (try pre-1834!) of award winning wines and expert vine care. Bandol is often cited as the grand cru of Provence, with its varied and complex terroir and prized wines. The entire farming process is as natural as possible, aligned to the rhythm of the seasons and lunar calendar with organic and biodynamic care. A blend of 35 to 40-year-old vines dominated by herbaceous, meaty mourvĂšdre (75%), with cherried, tobacco-y grenache noir, smokey cinsault, spiced carignan and brambly syrah (making up the remaining 25%). Everything is destemmed, left for 3-4 weeks of maceration and aged for 18 months in casks to collect their deeply earthy thoughts. Tree bark, black truffle, fleshy cherries and cloudberries, red meat cookout, dusty tumbleweed tannins, leather tanning & an olive.
