Like a minor kerfuffle between plentiful fruit and earthy snickers, but the fruit comes out on top! Founded in 1989 with the aim of rescuing the area’s local varieties, Zorzal’s philosophy is that wine originates in the vineyard. Their 40 hectares of gently rolling grounds creates a small oasis between the vineyards on the lower bank of the Ebro river, giving the wines an eXTra freshness. From resilient, 60-year-old vines, the fruit is left 20% whole cluster to pull slightly more gripping tannins. Star-bright raspberry, strawberry and red cherry, with black pepper bite, aromatic herbs, chalky tannins, beeswax & a long, leathery finish.
