A crispy, crunchy and mineral-driven Spanish white. Casa Mariol is the revitalization of a century-old, family-owned wine business operating out of La Batea, a medieval, sun-soaked town in the heart of Terra Alta, Spain. Today the third and current generation, Josep Maria, Miquel Ăngel and Marta Vaquer manage the winery, producing single-variety wines and vermouths from their 50 hectares of vineyards, as well as working with small, local farmers. Made from a mix of old and young vines grown on sandy and chalky soils around Batea and Gandesa, the organically grown garnaxta blanco is picked early to retain tongue-tickling acidity, and aged on fine lees for three months for a full mouthfeel. Orange blossom water, lemon strudel, if tropicana made a bubblegum, green almonds, fenugreek & hay. Enjoy with salmon, tuna or scallop sashimi, while sweating profusely on a patio or park bench.Â
