‘Hello My Name is Silly Goose’

Cabernet Franc, Gamay, Syrah & Empress Plums, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia

Whimsical, welcoming & heartfelt, like a nursery rhyme in a bottle. Born and raised on his family’s vineyard, Rajen Toor launched Ursa Major in 2016, joining the ranks of young, minimal intervention winemakers moulding the exciting scene in British Columbia’s, Okanagan Valley. A tasteful collage of earthy and peppered cabernet franc (48%), exuberant gamay (27%), meaty syrah (19%) & saccharine empress plums (aka Italian prune plum, 6%). The cab franc was lifted up by 14 days of carbonic maceration, the gamay fermented whole cluster for seven days pulling juicy tannins & the syrah and empress plums were direct pressed for purity. Exquisitely herbaceous and medicinal to the point of a plum vermouth, crunchy leaves, sandy tannins, drying violets, liquorice, eucalyptus shower & a spearmint spotted ending. Enjoy with a roasting bird in the oven & a spiced rice tossed with raisins.
