A luxe, fruit-forward carignan, in Ontario for the VERY first time! Gemma Miró is a biologist with a master’s degree in viticulture and oenology (#wewannabelikeherwhenwegrowup), guided by the words of her grandfather and an innate connection to her family’s land in the Priorat area of Catalonia. From 40-year-old, berried and spice-strewn carignan on rich slate, clay and granite soils, ‘La Partio’ is partially semi-carbonically macerated, and partly destemmed for a balanced sip of playful structure, and bundles of fruit FlAvoUr. Cherry blossoms, cherry flavoured tobacco, mediterranean field, liquorice root, lightning striking the same spot twice, glycerin weight & super fine, granitic minerals. Pour alongside viewings of old family albums, be they yours or someone elses.
