‘Le Buisson Pouilleux’

Sauvignon Blanc, Loire Valley, France

A balanced, stirring and crown-toting sauv for connoisseurs. This Loire estate is legendary, brothers Jean-Marie and Thierry Puzelat have always held tradition close, while riding the natural wine train all the way to the last, sensory-seducing stop. Today, Thierry is fully at the helm and was recently joined by his daughter Zöe, to oversee the estate and rented land from their comfy perch of flinty-clay soils. HISTORICAL FUN FACT! Since the Middle Ages, there have been records about the lieu-dit “le Tue-Boeuf” and its incredible wines enjoyed by nobility and the kings of France, with the family name Puzelat first mentioned in 15th-century documents! The old vine sauvignon blanc grapes are partly direct pressed and partly macerated for two to three days, then aged on lees in used Burgundy barrels for 12 months with regular bĂątonnage (stirring) to bring multi-dimensional texture. Green apples wrapped it grapefruit skins, secret cave, elderflowers, herby lemon brine, madagascar vanilla paste, driftwood & a grand, rose-whipped honey culmination. Enjoy with a plate of cockles.
