One of the most alluring and small production projects coming out of Burgundy right now, Pierre Mang is a diligent and sincere winemaker who farms 2.5 hectares with immense care and skill. Relatively new on Burgundyâs natural wine scene, he has some serious experiences under his belt, with stints working with and learning from winemakers like Jean-Yves Bizot, Philippe Valette & Alexandre Jouveaux. We are VERY pleased to bring his wines to Ontario for the very first time and with only 36 bottles of this seriously rare jewel coming in this year, get a hold of this tender red while you can! 100% light nâ bright pinot noir mostly from precious ten year old vines, with a small portion from a 25 year old plot. Located in the town of Plottes on clay-limestone soil that bring bring minerality and acidity to the forefront. Maceration takes place over two weeks in vats extracting concise tannins, before moving to 600 litre demi-muids for some room to stretch their limbs. BURSTING cherries lead us into dirty puffball mushroom, wetted weeds, liquorice root, elegant primrose, cool crumbling asphalt, fallen red mulberries & a parm rind undertow. Could handle some age if that is your style, but also impeccable right now, maybe with a saucy lobster roll.
