A silky, luxurious, dead ringer for white Burgundy with a little something you canât quite put your finger on. Welcome to this scene-stealing Portuguese white blend! For the last twenty years, LuĂs Seabra has been a key player in a movement of young, independent winemakers reclaiming ancient vineyards, historic grape varieties, and low-intervention techniques in Portugal. Here we have their flagship white, a blend of 30 to 45-year-old floral and mineral rabigato (60%), citric, spiced gouveio (15%), tropical, tart codega (15%) and honeyed sauvignon blanc-esque viosinho (10%, plus a few other grapes in very small amounts!) that are direct pressed and aged for 12 months in used barrels. Pear sauce, fennel, flint, slightly underripe kadota fig, lemon slushy & many salty beach stone. Enjoy while hand juicing your weekâs worth of grapefruits, nothing sets a morning right like a cold glass of grapefruit juice.Â
