Tinto
Field Blend, DĂŁo, Portugal Â
If you are in your âsleepy-timeâ era, hereâs a wine for Wednesday eve consumption that is happy to tuck you in at 9 pm! The winery, established in 1893, consists of 30 hectares of vines at the foot of the Serra da Estrella mountain range. The name of the estate derives from the Portuguese word for the month of May, which is when the Weaver's Broom (also known as Giesta, but there as Maias) flowers in their area! MencĂa, known as âjaenâ in Portugal, is one of our favourite regional grapes, known for its alluring aromatics, herby charm & distinctive minerality â thanks, granite soils! Strawberry flowers, strawberry-cherry purĂ©e, crushed gravel, pomegranate molasses (but not sweet), cherry pit & red peppercorn. Drink alongside a pastrami sandwich or steak au poivre!
