An indescribably textured, rare as can be, savoury OLD vine white. The wines of La Perdida are a global phenomenon that took root when, the then biologist, Nacho Gonzales was gifted a parcel of grapes by his all too wise grandmother. #RespectYourElders. ‘Malas Uvas’ or “bad grapes” is made from ancient, low-yielding palomino vines that are spread throughout Nacho's vineyards in Valdeorras. Despite their long history, these grapes are not permitted in the appellation, giving them their rebel title. Hand-harvested separately from the rest of the vines, these unbelievably concentrated palomino grapes are destemmed, fermented in clay tinaja amphorae for one week of skin contact, then left on lees in the same vessel for five months on ‘gentle spin cycle’. Sun bleached tobacco, dried flowers and book pressed green leaves, walnut shell, celery stalk, cutting a pice of lignifying wood, enlightening minerality & a rockets packet. Enjoy with all things seasoned by the sea.
