'Norticoâ
Albariño, Vinho Verde, Portugal
A tart, salty and crowd-pleasing Portuguese albariño for pools, parks and ponds. Winemaker Alberto Orte works sustainably in Portugalâs largest wine region, Vinho Verde, on the border of Spain's Galicia province. Coming from small, granitic plots protected from the oceanic winds by a range of mountains in Monção and Melgaço, his vines were planted between 1910 and 2005. FUN FACT! This bottle and label are a celebration of the grape growers and tile makers of northern Portugal! The âNorticoâ grapes were sourced from over 100 small vineyard plots and come together much like a tiled mosaic, patching together the region and year into one lusty bottling. Saline and citric, with creamy lime gelato, spiced yellow apple filling, faint, peachy florals, lemon oil & a lengthy mineral ending. Enjoy alongside lasagna layered with eggplant and ricotta.
