'Old Vine Zinfandel'

Forget everything you think you know about California Zinfandel, and discover how bright, complex and expressive it can be. In winemaker Shaunt Oungoulian’s words, this example is what he wishes “pinot from California would taste like: taught, fruity, brooding, all with great acidity.” Yum! Here 70-80 year old ancient zinfandel vines are picked early to preserve acidity, character and freshness. Whole cluster (25%) grapes are layered under destemmed fruit (75%) for a 14-21 day maceration pulling firm yet supple tannins. Savoury slinkiness, concentrated silky fruits, a deep and brooding heart, dried nori & minerality glistens, like the moon on waves. Enjoy alongside grilled fennel and pork loin, with apple bbq sauce.
