‘Julia’
Chardonnay & Viognier, Maule Valley, Chile
Meet 'Julia', our GW House White with a BRAND NEW LABEL thanks to Toronto art star Laura Dawe! Our house wines are a collaboration with winemaker Roberto Echeverría (Julia is his talented wife!) and the culmination of our dream to offer delicious and quality wines at excellent price points. A slinky, winter white for those whose white linen shirts somehow never get stained. The GW Imports team flew all the way to Curicó Valley to blend this organic rich n’ spicy chardonnay (70%) with aromatic and plush viognier (30%), from ungrafted, pre-phylloxera French rootstock – a stunning (and tasty) rarity just about anywhere in the world. FUN FACT! Roberto says that these über fertile vineyard soils allow the vines to express all their vegetative and fruit potential (kind of like how a snake can only grows as big as its habitat, this wines got one expansive habitat, #reptilefacts). Lemon coulis, jar of sprinkles, melona bar, white haribo, tangerine with little pithy bitters, marzipan, white pepper flowers, a tingly, mineral pinch, with a spiced ending of cumin & celery seeds. Enjoy with a scallop crudo in your adorable (but futile) attempt to hold onto warmer weather wonderment.
