If there was ever a universal truth in wine, it’d be that anything in a litre bottle is a guaranteed banger, a helpful sign from the universe (read: winemaker) that this wine’s made for drinking, baby! Blaufränkisch typically stars in our fave reds of Austria and Eastern Europe, but finds a happy home in Niagara’s cool climate. And just like its European cousins, Blau is a juicy, easy-going & slightly spicy red with the smallest tickle of tannins that we’d drink every single day if we could. Fermented with wild yeasts, the wine was aged for five months in neutral French oak & bottled without fining or filtration. Sour cherry, cranberry cocktail, rhubarb bitters with a slight white pepper vibe and a slightly pithy, bitter finish. Pair with tiny tops, big bottoms and French bistro staples.
