Samso Seulle'
Cinsault, Languedoc-Roussillon, France
A rough and fickle, yet solemnly charactered wine, reminding us of Successionâs striking Logan Roy. Frederic Brouca is largely self-taught and didnât attend formal schooling on viticulture or winemaking before taking the plunge into the wonderful world of grape & vine. His concept of growing and winemaking focuses on reducing human intervention to an absolute minimum. SamsĂł is the ancient local name for the floral and lifted cinsault, here 45 years olds, weather-seasoned, and organic. Picked early to retain acidity, with 70% whole cluster fermentation for stemmy inflections & aged nine months on fine lees to fill out the body and add depth to the depths. Musky florals take us back to a damp overgrown garden reading session, fragrant black cherry, grandmaâs rhubarb, char grilled herbs & the past its prime rose from Beauty & the Beast. Pour alongside celebrating you and one of your bestieâs new matching thigh tats.
