A berried, earthy & JUICY big bojo baby! After interning at Savoieâs famed Belluard and Beaujolaisâs great Lapalu, ex-punk rocker SylvĂšre Trichard began SĂ©lĂ©nĂ© in his hometown of BlacĂ©, with farmer and friend Elodie Bouvard in 2012. Since then the property has flourished with plantings of fruit, and vegetables, as well as the introduction of animals and biodynamic practices. From SylvĂšreâs home block on sandy pink granite, the young vines are picked by hand and carbonically macerated in concrete tank for five days to amp up aromatics and JUICINESS, before being pressed off to finish fermentation. FUN FACT! Essentially right after the wine is dry and through malolactic conversion, it is bottled and released young & HUNGRY in the great Beaujolais Nouveau tradition! Melange of red and black liquorice, mashed strawberries, baked blueberry + underripe blueberries + yoghurt, wood bark structure, cranberry & a stemmy scruffiness. Pour alongside spring flowers & pizza slices.Â
