A delicately aromatic, mightily mineral and concentrated zero-zero Austrian white blend. Available for the first time in Ontario, welcome the wines of Maria & Sepp Muster! Taking over the estate (with a history traceable back to 1727) from Seppās father in 2000, Maria and Sepp tend the 10 hectares of certified organic and biodynamic old vines on rolling slopes that encircle the coupleās hilltop-house. Named after the predominant influence of the chalky marl soils of the region, the entry-level āOpokā line is exclusively made from younger vines (only up to 20 years), in order to showcase fresher, more youthful expressions. This āOpokā is a combination of verdant sauv blanc, rich nā mineral chard (morillon), citric welschriesling, plush weissburgunder (pinot blanc) and floral gelber muskateller, all pressed over four hours, and aged for 20 months in old oak. FUN FACT! Maria Muster is the sister of fellow winemakers Ewald (of Werlitsch!) and Andreas Tscheppe! An electric field of tiny yellow and white flowers, vanilla biscuit meets saltine, licking the inside of a cave & white and blue airheads. Pour alongside making out with the best kisser youāve ever kissed.
