‘Procura na Anfora’

AntĂŁo Vaz, Alentejo, Portugal

Super citrus Portuguese textured white for nocturnal nibbling. Susana Esteban is at the pinnacle of low-intervention Portuguese wine, with national and international awards and recognition under her belt, combined with a super-charged point of view, you need to know her! FUN FACT! Susana tirelessly searches for the best old vines of Portuguese grape varieties, with a focus on high altitudes and granite and shale soils – as they are all factors that provide slow maturation of the grapes, which is highly desirable for her style of winemaking! The citric, yet lush antão vaz (one of Portugal’s top white grapes) comes from an exceptional 85-year-old vineyard, located 700 meters above sea level in the Serra de São Mamede. Fermented on skins in amphoras (or talhas, made from local red clay), this unique offering is quite simply OPULENT. Whole orange, honey stick, lime zest, chincona bark bitterness, peach juice, lightly smoked & an everlasting minerality. Enjoy with cold leftovers straight from the fridge after an impromptu proposal, moving in, getting an iguana or tying the knot! CHEERS!
