A veritable care package sent to a close friend going through a tough time ~ chalk-full of fruits, flowers & the essence of affection. The Reia farm is located in the village of Neblo, in the region of GoriÅ”ka Brda on the westernmost edge of Slovenia, beside the border to Italy. With a family taught devotion to nature, Reia are now a certified organic and biodynamic winery (plus they farm cherries, apricots, persimmons, pituralka pears, olives and more!) with the firm motto, āNo Harm To Natureā. Made from 100% perfumed sauvignonasse (aka sauvignon vert or friulano), a close relative of sauvignon blanc which is commonly planted in the Italian region of Friuli, and the adjacent lands of Slovenia (obvi!). āTolovajā sees a 16 day maceration before two years in acacia barrel, making it a heavy-weight champion of orange wines. White balsamic essence, apricot marmalade, fennel flowers, salted pine nut, crab apple bite, spruce tips, lengthy green tea tannins & a tempered butter texture. Pour alongside any dish loaded with parmesan or ham!
