‘La P’tite Côte’

Grenache Noir, RhĂ´ne Valley, France

A sun-dried, earthen and crunchy Rhône red. Located in the Southern Rhône Valley, Domaine du Trapadis has been under the care of four generations of the Charavin family since 1850, with today’s owner Helen Durand having sold her first bottles at 16! The estate covers 35 hectares, with these 25 year-old grenache vines having been picked by hand, lightly crushed and fermented in cement for a 15 day maceration, and aged for 18 months on fine lees. FUN FACT! Trapadis is derived from the word 'trapalas', which means 'hole' in the local dialect, a reference to the underground cave and natural spring located below the vines that provides water to the surrounding hamlet! Juniper, overripe raspberry, sun-dried bundles of herbs, strawberry sorbet, tree trunk & ancho chili pepper. Pair with soy marinated veggies caramelized to perfection.
