A spicy, deep-fruited Australian red with something to say. From Laura and Brendan Carter of new-to-Ontario Unico Zelo, ‘Big Red’ is part of their new Tropo lineup, built for daily consumption. Part of the ‘New Australia’ movement, they focus on alternative sun-loving grapes, sustainability & natural yeast fermentation. A deep and smoky blend of herbal and BLUE-fruited syrah with umami-giving, silky merlot from the cooler climate, quality focussed region of Adelaide Hills. Bowl of cherries, dusty boysenberry, olive tapenade, smoked pepper, leafy herbs & a simultaneously dark, yet light vignette of an ending, like a long walk at dusk.
