âA Congregation of Jackalsâ
Gewurztraminer, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia
An inviting, aromatic and textured BC gew for romantics and lone wolfs alike. Born and raised on his familyâs vineyard, Rajen Toor launched Ursa Major in 2016, adding his voice to the blooming scene of low intervention winemakers in British Columbiaâs Okanagan Valley. Sustainably farmed at Vantage Point Vineyard in Kaleden, the majority of the gew was whole bunch direct pressed into large barrels to ferment and age for six months on lees, while a smaller portion was kept whole cluster, foot treaded for three days, gently basket pressed and fermented in tanks where it rested on gross lees for six months before blending. All the nice things about gew without being overdone â green lychee, jasmine oil, pink scented toilet paper in a Parisian bathroom, cheese string meets vanilla ice cream, crushed chalk, lady gaga in a star is born, torch ginger flower, lemon juice & Lipton. Pour alongside chicken katsu sandwiches.Â
