âLa Pataguaâ
SĂ©millon & Moscatel, Colchagua Valley, ChileÂ
An aromatic and tropical Chilean white blend ready for any table, bench or sand dune near you. The name âInacayalâ comes from the Quechua language, loosely translating to âold thingâ, and is a collaborative project between natural wine importer, Les Caves de Pyrene and Luca Hodgkinson, a consultant for many Chilean wineries. Their 'La Patagua' project works to produce weekday banginâ wines that represent the unique Chilean terroirs and are made from old, own-rooted and dry-farmed vineyards. A blend of rounding, mineral sĂ©millon (90% but co-planted with a few acidity-bringing sauvignon vert vines that are harvested as well), and floral, fruity moscatel (10%) from Guarilihue in Itata. All of the grapes were whole bunch pressed, fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks and left unfiltered to leave in a pleasant cloudiness and preservation of all the delectable aromatics. FUN FACT! The wine was named âLa Pataguaâ after a Chilean tree endemic to Colchagua, and the label features its delicate flower, also called the âLily of the Valleyâ, #flowerpower! Fresh lychee, honeysuckle, pineapple popsicle, citrus grove, green herby accents, honeydew, white peach, soft minerality, summer honey & beeswax. Try alongside ceviche, shrimp cocktail or cold nâ herby pasta salads.Â
