'Pinot Noir Le Morillon’
Pinot Noir, Bugey, France
A polished and classical pinot noir balanced between fruit, structure and heart. Yves Duport is a fourth-generation winemaker based in the town of Groslée, a village located in the teeny, buzzy appellation of Bugey. Bugey’s topography could be described as a gathered, mountainous relief in the southern extension of the Jura massif mountain range, housing a patchwork of terroirs. FUN FACT! Bugey is the smallest wine producing region of France! The pinot grapes are cultivated on clay-limestone scree soils, whole bunch maceration for a week, then aged in old barrels for five months. Dark cherry juice, dried raspberry, twigs and soil, damp florals, pawing minerality & a subtle donkey kick of spice. Pour alongside mushroom hand-pies and sweet mustard sauces.
