‘Some Kind of Peace’

Riesling & Kerner, Reinhessen, Germany

A luscious, herbal and graceful amber wine made in collaboration with Grammy nominated Icelandic musician and artist Ólafur Arnalds! Winemaker Jas Swan is a globetrotter, openminded creative, vocal supporter of the queer community & proud part of the new wave of natural German wine. Her wines gallop freely like a wild herd, playing with sensory experience, macerations, low alcohol, affordability & evocative character. Organically grown on sandy-clay soils, the blend of de-stemmed, aromatic, stone-fruity kerner grapes and direct pressed citric, mineral riesling juice were sealed for two weeks without oxygen exposure (carbonic maceration) to steep and stew, and turn from two to something altogether new. Plush elegance, a hint of sunshiny richness, tingly green pear + cooked pear puree, fresh peach, chalky rocks, modern tradition, a soothing, barely there, oxidative brioche warmth, thimble of umami & calendula. Pour alongside lobsters dipped in garlic butter or crab cakes flecked with corn kernels and chives.
