A poem of sorts from the winery, “an old rugged apple tree towers over a tender grapevine, they dance in harmony while both rooted in the passing of time…”. Sourwood focuses on making raw, unfiltered cider using 100% Nova Scotian apples! But also enjoy experimenting with added fruits and hops, which bring unexpected textures, flavours & body to their ciders. FUN FACT! This bevy is actually made mostly from grapes with just a bit of added apples – a kind of turning on it's head as it were in relation to the cidery’s normal production of mostly apple-based drinks! A pet-nat aka zero-zero sparkling is made of handpicked fruit, including l’acadie grapes, aka Nova Scotia’s signature white wine grape (a #HYBRID) & nutty yet sweet russet apples from their ’secret sheep’ orchard. Left un-disgorged, so expect some sediment, floral elderflower, geranium & sour, pithy grapefruit. Enjoy on a warm afternoon under a large parasol.
