Beginning in 2021, Basile lāArchimandriteās delightful project is all about creating delicious, terroir-centric wines from the fruit of only the happiest nā healthiest vines in Chileās Itata Valley. āCirco Pobreā is made from 200-year-old (!!!) paĆs grown on poor, sandy granitic soils, which saw three months of skin-contact in neutral steel tank before being pressed for an additional nine months, also in tank, getting ready for opening night. FUN FACT! A light smoke taint is present due to a fire nearby the vineyard, but really feels truly in place in the context of this rough nā rich red, giving a Pacina 'Toscana Rossoā-esque vibe weāre INTO! FUN FACT! āCirco Pobreā means āpoor circusā, and is a reference to having to do everything at the winery oneself, cultivate the vineyard, make the wine, bottle it, sell it, plus the paperwork! Macademia nut butter, rubber tree in a monkey filled jungle, fermenting cacao beans, cinnamon bark, chalk & craggy black rock tannins, like the shores of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula in Iceland. Pour alongside fire-charred veggies, seaweeds, elk or duck.Ā
