‘Tutto Anfora Rosé’

An umami-dense, amphora-aged Tuscan sangiovese rosé. One of GW Imports newest Italian producers, ciao La Ginestra! A worker-owned and managed organic Tuscan farm with over 130 hectares of land, 7.5 of which are under vine, and the rest home to roaming cows, 700 beehives, pigs, legumes and grains. Dario Nocci acts as winemaker and part-owner who came from a conventional wine education background, but shed that restrictive skin in favour of creating wines that breathe with life and stir up feeling. FUN FACT! The explanation for the cuvée name we received from Dario goes like this, “Tutto means "everything" in Italian, and is linked to the Ouroboros image, a divine symbol of infinity, eternity and unity of being. The circle of death and life... the border between me and you... those differences appear when we don't feel the greater picture”, food for thought! The 23 year-old sangio vines are picked early from their clay-alberese (limestone) soils to ensure percolating tartness, and aged in amphora for six months to encase the wine within itself. Dutch ketchup chip and tiny sweet tomatoes covered in tomato powder umami, pine, super savoury potato earthiness, Dobby's new sock, red ring pop & bejewelled fabric.
