‘Traminer - Těšetice’

Traminer, Moravia, Czech Republic

A zero-zero, mineral-focused and zippy Czech traminer for a doo-da-day. From the historic Znojmo wine region, Martin Vajcner works with a passion for winemaking and geology, vinifying each plot separately, and in a zero-zero fashion, to exhibit his diverse array of unique soils. FUN FACTS! Těšetice (pronounced like tesa-ki-tsa) is the village where the vines are grown! AND, traminer is the name applied to both white and pink-berried non-aromatic clones of the famous gewürztraminer! Martin says “Nature itself determines the flavour of the wines, so my goal is to minimize interference in the process” – can we get this on a mug? From 22-year-old traminer vines on palaeozoic quartz and quartz sands, the grapes are semi-carbonic macerated for 10 days to pull citric aromas that bring you to a beachfront hammock at the White Lotus in Thailand. Fresh pressed peach juice opaqueness, sour green orange, floppy bunny ear bubbles, clementine infused spring honey, roses inside of a pumpkin with a salt & white pepper speckle. Enjoy while watching the icicles drip and shrink outside your window, The Supremes 1968 album Love Child warming your ears and outlook.
