A collision of tradition, meeting transcendence, meeting a tender San Diego touch. Young Californian winemaker Jonathan Purcell was given the gift of curiosity (and taste) at a young age, when his father would give him sips of Burgundies from the 40’s & 50’s. ‘Superposition’ is from .2 hectares of 80 year old, organically farmed vines that sit atop some of the highest (300m) vineyards in the famed Puligny Montrachet appellation. The vineyards grow on calcareous & white clay soils bordered by forests for a wild and mineral enveloped wine. Micro grape yields are direct pressed and matured for eight months in a single (old) 450L barrel – which, when you do math, means that only 550 bottles were produced, what a treasure! We got TWO 🤪 A complex, mineral soaked nose, boasting with white fruits, expressed grapefruit, cold butter & all the secrets of another dimension written on your tongue.
