A sleek skin contact, like running your hand along a freshly sanded table top.  Slobodne is a family-run estate that was reclaimed in 1997, and has been making wine as SlobodnĂ© VinĂĄrstvo since 2010. The family spent the last 25+ years rebuilding the ecosystem of the farm, now run by the skilled sisters Agnes and Katarina, together they craft some of the most distinctive natural wines we have tasted. FUN FACTS! They practice beekeeping across their 17 hectares of vines, and as for the rest of their 350 hectare farm, they tend to livestock, grow poppies, barley, wheat & more! A blend of luscious, Slovakian-specialty DÄvĂn & feistily-aromatic Traminer. Grapes are from 10-35 year old vines, grown on loess & calcium soil for a roundhouse kick of chalky power. Fermentation is done on the skins for six weeks to extract lean tannins that beg for your attention. Wafting lychees, lime, geranium and elderflower, with curious orange, grapefruit pith, dried thyme & a fresh bed of hay. Enjoy while camping with the afternoonâs fresh river catch.
