Escoda-Sanahuja has been at the forefront of the Spanish natural wine scene since the ‘90s — hello 'BRUTAL' movement! The wife and husband team of Mari Carmen Sanahuja and Joan RamĂłn Escoda were among the first to go biodynamic in Catalunya, and consistently produce the most alive, fire-cracking cuvĂ©es vintage after vintage. The Loire Valley has always had an importance for Joan, which resulted in his mad love for the one, the only, chenin blanc, and lead to the planting of some chenin vines in Conca del BarberĂĄ, a great success thanks to the cool + humid weather in the hills in Prenafeta! The grapes saw 15 days of maceration and six months in amphora for a round, supple texture and earthy inflections. Mirabelle plum juice, lemon soda, spun sugar, beeswax, fennel fronds, fleshy peach + pit bitters, salt & dry, cracked earth. Pour alongside your favourite nature documentaries; David Attenborough, Morgan Freeman or Sigourney Weaver’s soothing, dulcet tones will comfort and hush the swirling storm inside us all.
