A force to be reckoned with! Mother Rock is a collaboration between winemaker Johan Meyer and Indigo Wine founder Ben Henshaw. By maintaining long-term contracts with some of the best growers in the Southern Cape, they are able to showcase the best and purest expression of South Africa’s diverse terroir. Made from 20 year old semillon bush-vines brought up with a strong coastal influence. The intentional light oxidization brings a plush savoury-ness, and with 20% of the grapes fermented with skins + stems for two weeks we get a binding structure – furthered by the seven months it spends developing on gross lees. Meyer lemon zest, honey spilled on grass, über salty, ripe guava, nut, roadside plucked green apple, wild asparagus, candle wax dripping down your hand & winter melon. Enjoy with herby pork sausages!
