Gut Oggau winemakers Stephanie & Eduard Tscheppe are deeply adored by natural wine lovers the whole world over and deserve every last iota of praise & reverence they receive. The fabric of the wines hinges upon the existence of a fictional family, with every vineyard plot being characterized by one of its members. Theodora is the youngest member of the Gut Oggau fam, representing the most recently planted vines. FUN FACT! 2024 is very ripe compared to the previous vintage, and was actually picked at 3 AM to catch the grapes at higher (or more balanced) acidity levels and lower sugar levels, reduce the risk of oxidation, and protect the delicate aromatic compounds in the grapes! The field blend consists of mostly gruner veltliner and welschriesling and is softly structured, cavernous like a deep, wet well, with gunpowder reduction, a silky pearl texture, uplifting melon tea, lemon curd richness cut by a shot of salt, sprawling mushroom gills & chalk tracings.
