Beginning in 2021, Alsace-born Basile lâArchimandriteâs delectable Itata Valley project is all about creating delicious and terroir-driven wines from the fruit of only the happiest nâ healthiest vines he can grow or buy. The Spanish version of blouge (from the French, blanc + rouge), meet BLINTO (blanco + tinto)! A 50/50 blend of 100-year-old, granite-grown paĂs and moscatel de alejandrĂa that were macerated for three months, pressed off skins and aged for nine months where they tied themselves together like babyâs first shoelaces. Morels in the rain, expensive feet, a house ripe with fancy incense meets a friendâs cool mom's perfume when you were in grade school, mineral muster, grapefruit pithy astringency, dried orange rind & bitter almond. A THIRSTY wine, enjoy alongside a Burmese tea leaf salad and reciting The Poetry Foundationâs poem of the day to anyone who will listen.Â
