An elegantly textured white blend, fit for the glasses of the masses. Slobodne is a family-run estate that was reclaimed in 1997, and have been making wine as SlobodnĂ© VinĂĄrstvo since 2010. The family spent the last 25+ years rebuilding the ecosystem of the farm, now run by the gifted sisters Agnes and Katarina. Together they craft some of the most distinctive natural wines in Europe. The concept of âMajer whiteâ is a multi-vintage blend of their homegrown white varieties. Everything will vary yearly and the percentages never set, as ultimately, the key is balance and a full expression of the estate. Dominated by herbaceous grĂŒner veltliner and lean yet bountiful sauvignon blanc, all varieties are fermented separately in a range of vessels and styles (concrete, wood, steel), before being lovingly blended to perfection. All the citrus pith, Korean jelly candies, underripe nectarine, scotch broom, gooseberry, the offering of table-side ground white pepper & hugging-someone-taller-than-you-with-a-nicely-trimmed-beard kinda texture on your forehead.
