A brand new cuvĂ©e from Australian natural wine darlings Dane Johns and Hannah Millerâs project in Gippsland, Victoria. Momento Mori was born out of a simple desire to make wines that first and foremost have respect for the living. Everything they craft is done with care towards the land and a natural approach in the cellar that responsibly stewards some very small, unexpected, and relatively old vineyards of Italian grape varieties. âRack & Ruinâ is another one of these âunlikely friendsâ that proves the whole is sometimes much greater than its parts. Northern Italian grape Ribolla Giallo is first produced as an orange wine (think of such classic producers as Radikon and Gravner here), then blended with 30% Nero dâAvola, bringing the dark fruit and spicy warmth of the Mediterranean to the complex and textured mouthfeel of the orange component.
