‘Orange Voilée’
Chenin Blanc, Cahors, France
An exquisitely plush moment for chenin blanc, slightly oxidative from a year under flor & churning with life. Fabien Jouves makes delicious, biodynamic wines in the mountains of Cahors, working not just with the region's famous grape, Malbec, but with a full roster of others. Destemmed and macerated for one year in clay amphora under flor, a layer of yeast famously used in Sherry, this orange is a lesson in texture, richness and spiced excellence. FUN FACT! Only 1,000 bottles were produced and we got just 60 of them! Blown out beeswax candle, dusty bergamot, anise, salt, kissy face acidity, apricot marmalade & long, lingering, lightly bitter tannins. Enjoy with buttery curries.
