Located on 18 hectares of steep slopes in the northern-flung town of Oslavia, along the Slovenia/Italy border. Original winemaker Stanko Radikon was beloved, one of few winemakers fermenting a uniquely Slovenian style of Friuli wines: concentrated, textured & ferociously intricate. His are among the finest, rarest & most sought-after skin-contact wines in the world. After Stanko’s passing in 2016, his son SaĆĄa took on the traditions, and we couldn’t be more impressed. Radikon’s blue labels denote the cuveĂ©s that are given the most extreme skin contact and longest maturation. Here is SaĆĄa's phenomenal blend of chardonnay and sauvignon blanc – spending up to four months on skins before three years in barrel and THEN, the wine is bottled – ageing like this allows the wine to really sink its teeth into itself. Honey-ginger marmalade, river stones, dirty sage, almond meal, dried golden apricot, butter soaked peaches & persimmon skin tannins. Pour alongside your personal peaks & valleys, this wine will always give you what you NEED.
