One of the most alluring and small production projects coming out of Burgundy right now, Pierre Mang is a curious and honest winemaker cultivating 2.5 hectares in the south of Burgundy, where he completes all the vinification and fieldwork himself. The lavish chardonnay comes from a mix of 20 to 80 years old vines planted on a very thin layer of topsoil with heaping limestone underneath. FUN FACT! This was his first year making wine from this vineyard, and GOODNESS what an entrance! Direct pressed and aged for 1.5 years in old barrels to ground nâ round, we are truly obsessed with this plush nugget. Cold cave air reduction, crispy VA (volatile acidity), vanilla wafer sandwiching German buttercream icing, salty smite, lily bunch, fuzzy bumblebee butt covered in pollen plushness, chalky, rocky & conch shell perfection. Enjoy with whelks, snails, cockles & mussels positively doused in butter and herbs.Â
