Quebec wine heroes Pinard & Filles, aka Catherine Belanger and Frederic Simon, organically farm a tiny 2.2 hectare area and fully embrace experimentation, a minimal-intervention mindset & zero sulphur additions. Hybrid grape heroes, the team is Herculean in their ability to lift these less appreciated grapes up to their proper place – a regal, cold-climate pedestal. FUN FACT! Marquette is cold hardy down to -29o and resists downy mildew, powdery mildew, and botrytis with relative ease, plus it even has the Jancis Robinson seal of ‘good potential’ approval. Frederic believes this to be the greatest red they’ve produced from hybrids; wildly aromatic, balanced like libra scales, showing the charm of its homeland…their wines seen to never be exactly what you’re expecting, they’re BETTER. Enjoy with bloomy charlevoix cheese & maybe some Celine Dion playing sweetly in the background.
